Bangalore is the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka; it is located on the Mysore Plateau in the south western Karnataka. It has a population of 6.1 million people. It is the third largest cities of India. It is the fifth largest metropolitan area. There is record of a written history of continuous settlement from 1527 when Kempa Gowda I established is as a province of the Vijaynagara Empire. He was also regarded the architect of modern Bangalore. Bangalore is established as a center of colonial rule in South India during British Raj. The establishment of the Bangalore cantonment brought large number of migrants from Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Apart from these Indian workers also joined for the development of the infrastructure of the cantonment.

After India gained independence, it evolved into a manufacturing hub for public sector heavy industries particularly space industry, defense and aerospace. There has been major establishment of business software companies in this city. After the liberalization of India’s economy, it has emerged as a boon in the information technology industry.Bangalore Bangalore is also called Silicon Valley of India. It contributes to 35 % of software exports. It is situated in the south east state of South India state of Karnataka. It is situated in the heart of Mysore plateau. The topology of this city is flat except a bridge. In the 16th century, kempa Gowda constructed many lakes. Bangalore currently relies on Kaveri Basin for its water requirements. Vrishabhavathi and Arkavathi water treatments plants meet the current requirement of water of the rising population of today. It receives 800 million liters of water per day, however during the summers the water shortage is common.

The pollution rate is very alarming in this city. It is the hub of technology and web services. It is a headquarter of 38% of global companies that’s why its position in the global IT map is quiet prominent. The developments of IT industries have presented this city with unique challenges. The Infant Jesus Shrine in Bangalore is one of the most important and venerable churches in Bangalore. On Thursday, thousands of devotees from all faiths come to this shrine to honor Infant Jesus. The most important feature of the Shrine is the secular nature of the devotees. This city is a home to the production of the kannada movies. Every year 80 movies are produced. Most of the movies are musicals and their compositions are great. The popularity of these movies have been rising. Bangalore is unique in many ways. It has most pleasant weather throughout the year. It is a multilingual city in the country which has welcomed every one who comes here to make it his home.
